US investigating whether Ukraine war documents were leaked

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department has launched an investigation into the possible release of Pentagon documents that were posted on several social media sites and appear to detail U.S. and NATO aid to Ukraine, but may have been altered or used as part of a misinformation campaign.The documents, which were posted on sites such as Twitter, are labeled secret and resemble routine updates that the U.S. military’s Joint Staff would produce daily but not distribute publicly. They are dated ranging from Feb. 23 to March 1, and provide what appears to be details on the progress of weapons and equipment going into Ukraine with more precise timelines and amounts than the U.S. generally provides publicly.They are not war plans and they provide no details on any planned Ukraine offensive. DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — A person was struck and killed by a Metra train Friday evening near Downers Grove, according to Metra. An outbound train struck someone at the Main Street station, according to information from Metra and the village. Their identity hasn't been released.The spokesperson said the trains are running again with delays.

The lobby of a Los Angeles Police Department station in Exposition Park is closed indefinitely after a man walked in with shopping cart lit with flames late Thursday, officials said.The incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. at the LAPD’s Southwest Station, located at 1546 W. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany community is still dealing with the aftermath of two significant fires that took place in the past few weeks. The Red Cross is assisting 17 people affected by a fire that broke out on Grand Street early Wednesday morning. Three apartment buildings and a vacant structure were demolished. Officials said everyone got out safely thanks to the quick actions of two city employees who alerted the impacted residents. The Ballston Spa Union Fire Company No. 2 hosted its 23rd annual Fish Fry.It serves as a fundraiser for the department to help cover the costs of operation and training that's needed to keep firefighters and the community safe. "This one's pretty important. It raises money for us to be able to send our people to training, and you know, do things for our community.
