Remainder of Empire season, Saturday block party canceled

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- In light of the Albany Empire being terminated from the National Arena League (NAL), the remainder of their season and the block party scheduled for Saturday outside the MVP Arena have both been canceled. The NAL decided to terminate the Empire following an emergency conference call with the league's board of owners, discussing the team's failure to pay overdue league-mandated assessments. All season and individual ticket holders will be refunded for the remaining three home games.

Triple shooting at North St. Louis gas station one dead, two injured

ST. LOUIS -- At a gas station in north St. Louis, there was a triple shooting that left one person dead and two others hurt. The search for suspects is still going on, but no one has been caught yet. At the moment, officers from the police department are working hard to figure out what happened before the violence broke out. A map showing the exact site of the event can be shown to help people understand where it happened. The shooting happened in the Wells Goodfellow neighborhood of North St. Louis, on the 55th block of Dr. Martin Luther King's street, at the corner of MLK and Clara. Around 7 p.m., law enforcement got a call from someone in trouble. When the cops got to the scene, they found three people who had been shot. One of the victims was found unconscious. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors announced the time of death. Behind the front, for St. Louis and points to the north and east, temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler today thanks to the northeast winds. In the south and west, temperatures will get to 90 or warmer again today. Plenty of sun and humidity keep things comfortable.Mostly sunny Saturday, highs near 90. A storm system arrives Saturday night and brings our best chance of needed rain on Sunday. That will impact Father’s Day plans. Highs Sunday were in the low to mid 80s. While Sunday looks to be our wettest day, a chance of showers and storms sticks around for Monday.
