Sorry, Barbie. Sorry, Ken. SAG-AFTRA is handing out some strict Halloween costume guidelines for members currently on strike. Instead, the guild recommends costumes based on general characters and figures like ghosts, zombies, spiders, etc. Members are also encouraged to dress up from characters from "non-struck content" like an animated television show. The actors' strike is nearing its 100th day after talks with studios fell apart last week with no deal.

Stunning surveillance video shows the moment a vehicle crashed into the front of a tobacco store in Brea Thursday evening.The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. at Tobacco Buzz on West Imperial Highway.Video shows a BMW crash into the store, hitting two people and knocking down store shelves.The two people, a maintenance worker and a customer, were injured in the crash. Security camera footage captured the moment a vehicle slammed into the front of a tobacco store in Brea on Oct. 19, 2023. (OnScene.TV)The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.The store owner said the building sustained major damage and it was red-tagged by the city code enforcement.The driver of the vehicle, identified by witnesses as a middle-aged woman, was taken away from the scene. Police have not said if she suffered any injuries or if she is expected to face criminal charges.

Deputy in stable condition after getting hit by fleeing suspect in West Hollywood

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy was seriously injured Thursday evening after they were injured by a vehicle driven by a fleeing burglary suspect.The incident unfolded around 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Cynthia Street in West Hollywood.According to the Sheriff's Department, deputies from the West Hollywood station responded to a report of a burglary. Deputies eventually located the suspect's vehicle and a brief pursuit began.The injured deputy was standing beside his vehicle when the suspect hit him, slamming into the patrol car's door in the process, officials said. Video from Sky5 showed what appeared to be the deputy sitting in the front passenger seat of an LASD cruiser before paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene to render first aid.The deputy suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A mid-October heat wave brought Heat Advisories to much of the Bay Area on Thursday, and some cities beat longstanding high-temperature records, according to the National Weather Service. San Jose, Richmond, Napa and even San Francisco International Airport all saw record-breaking heat.San Jose beat out a 110-year-old record for its Oct. 19 high temperature, NWS said. In 1913, the previous record was set at 91 degrees. On Thursday, the temperature soared to 93 degrees.In Richmond, Thursday’s 92-degree high set a new record for Oct. 19. The previous record was 89 degrees, set in 2020.Napa narrowly set a new Oct.19 record for high heat when it peaked at 95 degrees Thursday.
