Two LoDo streets will be closed Friday and Saturday night in Denver

Sections of two streets in Denver’s Lower Downtown will be closed to vehicles on Friday and Saturday night so city officials can evaluate how it impacts crowds, congestion and crime.Market Street between 19th and 20th streets and Larimer Street between 20th and 21st streets will be closed to vehicles from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., city officials announced Thursday.The idea to temporarily close the streets was sparked by residents and businesses asking for better management of crowds and vehicles and improved safety, Denver officials said in a statement.“Removing traffic flow and parked vehicles from these two blocks will also increase officers’ visibility of potentially dangerous or illegal activity occurring so that it can be quickly addressed,” city officials said in a news release.Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, which was the scene of a shooting that injured five people in September, has helped connect area nightclubs and city officials, said Denver Police Department spokesper...

Crash-and-grab freeway robbery suspects still at large

After a brazen and dangerous broad daylight robbery on a freeway in Los Angeles was captured on camera earlier this week, everyone from the chief of police to local radio personalities is speaking out about the violent attack.  The incident unfolded Tuesday afternoon on the shoulder of the eastbound 10 Freeway just west of Arlington Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Dodge Caravan deliberately crashed into a black Alfa Romeo sedan. 3 suspects on the loose after shooting in Toluca Lake

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for suspects after a shooting Thursday afternoon in Toluca Lake that injured at least one person, authorities confirmed to KTLA. Calls about the incident in the 4600 block of Cahuenga Boulevard, just north of the 134 Freeway, came in at around 5:20 p.m., LAPD said. Details are limited and it’s unclear what led to the shooting, but at least one victim at the scene was taken to the hospital in unknown condition by paramedics with the L.A. Fire Department. Aerial footage captured by Sky5 showed a heavy police presence outside the Toluca Lofts, a large apartment complex on Cahuenga. Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing Thursday in downtown Los Angeles that sent two victims to the hospital.Officers responded to the area of West 6th and South Spring streets at about 3:45 p.m.Initial reports indicate one victim, a male in his 60s, was found with stab wounds to his stomach outside of a Starbucks. Two people were transported to area hospitals, a LAPD spokesperson told KTLA.The scene at 6th & Spring in downtown Los Angeles. Oct. 26, 2023. What was supposed to be a fun stay to celebrate the wife's birthday turned out to be a horrific experience.The woman, identified in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, drank "semen-contaminated" water served by a Ritz-Carlton staffer, according to a lawsuit Doe filed this month to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
