The House, amid some increasing tension between the majority Democrats and minority Republicans, passed a bill to double the state’s match for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit. The program will primarily benefit low-income families and workers — as many as 400,000, Rep. Mary Young, a Greeley Democrat, said in a statement.The bill still needs approval by the Senate.“This special session is not exclusively about property owners,” Rep. Authorities release photos of person of interest in 10 Freeway fire Authorities have released photographs and a description of a man sought in connection with last weekend’s fire that damaged part of the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.According to CalFire, the person of interest is approximately six feet tall and weighs 170 to 190 pounds. He is believed to be between the ages of 30 and 35 and has black hair. Suspicious package prompts closure on O’Farrell Street (KRON) – O’Farrell Street has re-opened closure on Saturday morning after the San Francisco Police Department noticed a suspicious package.At 10:19 a.m., San Francisco police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of O’Farrell Street after members of the San Francisco Fire Department located a suspicious package in the area on Nov. 18. Milpitas PD shut down multiple schools after report of a teen with weapon According to police, officers restricted access to the block and contacted the SFPD Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. The EOD determined the package did not pose any danger and was removed by the department. O’Farrell Street between Stockton and Powell Streets and sidewalks are now open.
