Two children among four people injured in Oakland shootings

OAKLAND — Four people, including an 8-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl hit by stray bullets, were injured in Oakland shootings that happened within six hours Wednesday in different areas of the city, authorities said.The children did not require hospitalization, authorities said. None of the shootings appear to be related at this time, according to investigators.The girl was injured in a shooting that happened about 9:07 p.m. Wednesday in the 9900 block of MacArthur Boulevard.Police said a 44-year-old man was shot multiple times by someone who confronted him outside on the street.A stray bullet grazed the head of the girl, who was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped nearby, police said. She was treated and released at the scene.The man was taken to a hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition but was later upgraded to stable.A motive for the shooting was under investigation. Woman injured after strong-armed robbery in Piedmont

(KRON) -- A woman was injured after she was robbed by two suspects outside of her Piedmont home on Wednesday, according to the Piedmont Police Department.At 4:58 p.m., the woman parked at her home in the area of Rose and Echo Avenues. Two suspects, who were both wearing masks and hoods, approached her car and broke the window in an attempt to grab her purse, PPD said. 2 people shot, Oakland police search for possible barricaded suspect A struggle ensued between the woman and the suspects over the purse, however the suspects eventually gained control of it and fled the scene in a silver BMW towards Piedmont Avenue.
